A private feeling can become a small form of company when we leave it where someone else can find it.
Field Notes
The world is full of moments that disappear because they seem too small to record—a kindness, a compliment left unsaid, an ordinary sadness, something beautiful noticed on the way home. Writing them down gives them somewhere to exist beyond the person who felt them.
Someone else may stop, read a card, and recognize their own life inside it. Perhaps we do not always need to solve one another’s loneliness. Sometimes it is enough to leave a little evidence that says: I noticed this too.
