A bonsai is not small because it lacks the potential to become a towering tree. It is small because every season, the newest growth is gently removed. Nothing is forced. Nothing is broken. The tree is loved, watered, protected, and patiently cared for. Only its attempts to become something larger are quietly trimmed away.
Sometimes our limits are maintained the same way—not through neglect, but through habits and beliefs we love so deeply we mistake them for ourselves.
