Food once carried the pace of seasons, gardens, kitchens, and the people who gathered around them. Somewhere along the way, many of our meals became products engineered to be stored, transported, heated, and eaten with as little time as possible. This tray isn’t the problem by itself—it quietly reflects a culture that has become remarkably efficient at removing time from everyday life. Looking at it from above, it’s hard not to wonder what else we’ve gradually accepted in the name of convenience without ever stopping to ask whether it was actually an improvement.
