There is an ebb and flow to being close to someone: moments of reaching, moments of yielding, moments when one person carries more while the other finds their footing. What holds it together is not constant balance, but the willingness to keep listening and responding.
Perhaps working together is less about always knowing the right move and more about remaining present enough to notice what the moment is asking of each of us.
