Some of the quietest moments in life happen before we’re fully awake.
Field Notes
There is a brief space where dreams haven’t completely let go and the day hasn’t completely arrived. We lie still, watching light move across the room, replaying fragments of places we’ve never been and conversations that never happened. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the first moments of the morning or after an afternoon nap. For a little while, there is nowhere to be and nothing to become. Just a reminder that sometimes the most peaceful part of the day is the one we don’t rush through.
