We often judge an event while we are still standing inside its first consequence. We call it fortunate or unfortunate, useful or harmful, without knowing what it may become once it enters the larger movement of a life.
Another way of looking begins with the recognition that reality is always changing and that apparent opposites arise in relation to one another. Light and dark are not moral categories, and neither side is complete on its own. Understanding may require patience—not because meaning is absent, but because it is still unfolding.
