Some places calm the body before the mind has had time to understand why.
Field Notes
We often speak about calm as though it is something we must create entirely within ourselves. But the body is always listening—to temperature, texture, light, distance, and sound. Warmth loosens us. Sand receives our weight. Soft amber light makes urgency feel farther away.
Sometimes peace begins as an atmosphere. The senses arrive first, and the rest of us follows.
