Field Notes
We can explain pollination, genetics, and evolution, but standing in front of this orchid still leaves an unsettling question: how does something like this happen? Somehow, over countless generations, a living flower arrived at a form that looks astonishingly like a tiny white bird. It isn’t pretending to be one. It isn’t trying to impress us. It simply became this. The more we learn about nature, the more it seems to replace certainty with even better questions.
