An address hidden behind every shadow.
Field Notes
Nature rarely leaves a vacancy. A crack becomes a shelter. A ledge becomes a doorway. A tunnel becomes a street. What appears to be empty space is often simply space whose residents we have not yet noticed.
From a distance, a reef can seem like a collection of coral formations. Up close, it becomes something else entirely. Every crevice contains a face. Every overhang conceals a neighbor. Every dark opening leads to another life unfolding just out of sight. The longer we look, the more the reef begins to resemble a city—not because it is crowded, but because it is inhabited.
Perhaps this is why true emptiness is so difficult to find. The world is not waiting to be filled. It already is. We simply spend much of our lives looking from too far away to see it.
