We became fluent in the language of the mind, but nearly forgot the language of the heart.
Field Notes
For centuries, many cultures understood the heart as more than an organ. It was where wisdom, courage, grief, compassion, and belonging were experienced. Modern life has taught us to trust what can be measured, calculated, and defended. Those gifts matter—they have built extraordinary things.
But some parts of being human rarely arrive as arguments. They arrive as a quiet certainty: a feeling that something is true before we can explain why. Perhaps intelligence was never meant to live in only one place.
