Humans seem to crave predictability. We return to the same meals, the same routines, the same stores, and the same choices because they ask so little of us. There’s comfort in knowing exactly what to expect, but comfort can quietly shrink our world until the unfamiliar starts to feel risky instead of interesting. I wonder how many extraordinary experiences we never discover—not because we wouldn’t love them, but because we never move past the vanilla.
