Freedom may begin when we stop asking life to remain still enough for us to feel in control.
Field Notes
Releasing control is not the same as becoming passive. Passivity assumes that we have no meaningful role, while control assumes that ours is the only force that matters.
Responsiveness allows both truths to remain: we can act, choose, and adjust while recognizing that the world is acting upon us too. We do not have to master every condition in order to remain whole inside it.
