We can become so focused on the parts of life we are told to measure that we miss the life they are creating.
Field Notes
We are taught to pay attention to progress, productivity, approval, and whether we are doing things correctly. These things are easy to separate, compare, and count. But a life is more than its measurable parts.
Sometimes we need enough distance—and enough imagination—to see how the pieces relate, what they are becoming together, and whether the larger shape still feels like our own. The bigger picture is not always hidden. Sometimes we have simply been trained to look at everything else.
