Even when two lives look almost identical, love does not assume they are the same.

Similarity can make us feel as though we already understand someone. We recognize familiar traits, familiar ways of moving through the world, and begin to confuse resemblance with complete knowledge.
But love keeps looking. It allows comfort and recognition while remaining curious about everything in the other person that cannot be seen from the outside.
