Some flowers become beautiful in ways we never imagined.
Field Notes
Over millions of years, this orchid evolved petals, textures, colors, and even scents that closely resemble a female bee.
To us, it’s simply a beautiful flower.
To a male bee, it’s something entirely different.
It’s astonishing to imagine that a plant can evolve to be recognized through the senses of another species. The more we learn about the living world, the more it reminds us that evolution isn’t just about survival—it’s also about relationships, communication, and lives becoming intertwined in ways we are only beginning to understand.
