The buttery yellow, the powdery white, the soft folded edges—everything about these flowers seems to borrow from the language of sweetness. They look less grown than prepared, as though the garden briefly learned how to bake.
But perhaps that confusion is part of their beauty. The world does not keep its categories as neatly as we do; a flower can resemble dessert, frost, velvet, and sunlight without becoming anything other than itself.
