The more forms of life we learn to care about, the less of the world feels insignificant.
Field Notes
Love is not only a feeling reserved for the people closest to us. It is a way of meeting life—with curiosity, patience, and the willingness to let another being matter beyond its usefulness to us.
A moth, a patch of moss, or a creature most people would never notice can enlarge our capacity to care. We learn to love by paying attention, and attention keeps revealing how much more there is to love.
