We learn to call the shell strength: composure, independence, the ability to remain untouched. But beneath it is the raw self—the one that feels everything before it has time to explain, soften, or conceal it.
To be seen without protection is frightening. Not because there is something wrong underneath, but because there is nothing left between us and the possibility of being hurt.
