A life does not become less real because rain and sunlight are falling across it at the same time.
Field Notes
We are often taught to treat contradiction as a problem: choose one feeling, one explanation, one version of yourself, and make everything consistent. But life rarely arrives that cleanly. We can love someone and need distance from them. We can feel grateful and still be grieving. We can understand why something happened without believing it was acceptable.
Something changes when we stop forcing one truth to cancel another. Contradictions do not always mean that we are confused or dishonest; sometimes they mean we are finally allowing enough of reality to remain visible at once.
