A fly caught in honey doesn’t become trapped because honey exists. It becomes trapped because every attempt to pull itself outside the experience only draws it in further.
We often do something similar with our own lives.
We imagine there is a version of ourselves that could finally stand outside our fears, our grief, our uncertainty, or even life itself and make sense of it all. We spend years trying to fix, escape, or outthink the experience of being human.
But we were never separate from it.
The moment we stop trying to escape life is often the moment we begin to experience it.
