A public space becomes alive when the people passing through are allowed to change it.
Field Notes
Most architecture asks us to leave no trace—to move carefully through a world that has already been decided. This place begins with the artists, but refuses to be finished by them. Its beauty depends on fingerprints, uncertain lines, strange drawings, wrong colors, and the private thoughts of strangers.
Perhaps belonging is not only being welcomed into a place. Perhaps it is being trusted with a small part of its future—knowing that after you leave, something will remain different because you were there.
