The pose feels funny because its effort is suddenly legible to us: the careful grip, the balance, the complete concentration. For a moment, this tiny animal seems almost familiar.
But the chameleon is not a miniature person. It is a different kind of mind, sensing and organizing reality through a body made for another world. Attention begins when we allow that difference to remain.
