Field Notes
Most wild animals spend surprisingly little time doing very much at all. They rest. They watch. They eat when they’re hungry, move when they need to, and return again to stillness. They aren’t waiting for life to begin after one more achievement or one more perfect future. They simply inhabit the day they’re given. Perhaps peace isn’t something to chase after all. Perhaps it appears the moment we stop treating the present as a place to pass through.
