Field Notes
For most of human history, shelter meant protection from the weather—not separation from it. A roof kept the rain off our heads while the wind, the sound of water, the scent of stone, and the changing sky remained part of the experience. Perhaps comfort is not found by shutting nature out, but by finding places that let us remain within it.
