Field Notes
None of us sees from nowhere. Memory, fear, love, language, culture, and experience all become part of the way the world appears to us. Two people can look through the same window and notice entirely different things—not because the world is imaginary, but because perception is always a meeting between what is there and the person who is looking.
And the relationship moves both ways. The world enters us through what we witness, endure, and come to understand, while the mind carries those experiences back into every new encounter. The world becomes interior to us, even as we remain entirely inside it.
