A baby kangaroo returns to its mother’s pouch for warmth, safety, and rest. It doesn’t wonder whether it’s welcome there.
For many people, that kind of refuge never existed. Yet we still know what we’re looking at when we see it. Something in us recognizes care, even if we’ve rarely experienced it ourselves.
Perhaps that’s because the need to feel safe was never something we had to learn. It was something we were born hoping to find.
