Attention is its own magnifying glass. It does not change the size of a thing, but it changes the amount of reality we allow it to have. A lacewing that first appears to be only a tiny green speck becomes, under a closer look, a whole living creature: veined wings, a fragile body, a life trying to find its way back outside.
That is what attention does. It turns background into presence. The world does not become richer because more things are added to it, but because fewer things are passed over.
