We are always in conversation—with other people, with the body, with the landscape, and with the inner voice that noise can cover over. When sound falls away, attention begins to widen.
Gesture, vibration, pressure, expression, and instinct start carrying meaning of their own. Perhaps listening has never belonged only to the ears.
