Wednesday is a little dream of a dog. I can move her anywhere and she simply folds herself against me, soft and trusting, as if being close is the most natural thing in the world.
When her heartbeat settles against mine, my whole body follows. She does not ask me to calm down. She simply rests—and somehow gives the rest to me too.
