Up close, what appeared to be one smooth thing reveals itself as a gathering of small, translucent lives—each holding its own sweetness, each enclosed by a delicate boundary.
Perhaps this is how many forms of wholeness are made: not by erasing what is separate, but by allowing countless little worlds to remain themselves while belonging to something larger.
