Imagine if no one had to wonder whether they belonged.
Field Notes
Growing up, I was always aware of who had been invited and who hadn’t. I knew what it felt like to wonder if there was a place for me, or if everyone else had quietly decided there wasn’t.
Maybe that’s why this scene feels so comforting to me.
No one is trying to impress anyone. There isn’t a popular group or an outsider. No one has to earn their place. They’re simply sharing the same evening—reading, laughing, wandering, resting—and somehow that’s enough.
I hope we keep creating spaces that feel more like this.
Places where people don’t have to wonder if they’re welcome.
Places where being yourself is all the invitation you need.
