Not everything deserves access to your inner world.
Field Notes
Every ecosystem survives through filtration.
Wetlands filter water. Roots filter nutrients. Cell membranes filter what enters living systems.
Without boundaries, systems become overwhelmed.
Human beings are rarely taught this clearly.
Many people are encouraged to remain constantly available: to information, opinions, urgency, conflict, expectation, noise, and emotional extraction.
But attention is porous.
The nervous system absorbs environments long before the conscious mind fully understands them.
Over time, what repeatedly enters a life begins shaping mood, identity, thought patterns, and physical regulation.
Boundaries are not disconnection.
They are ecological intelligence.
A healthy system survives not by shutting the world out completely, but by becoming careful about what it allows to enter.
