The rooftop was never designed for this. It was built for utility, drainage, maintenance, survival inside density.
But children rarely inherit environments passively. Given rain, scraps, overflow, and enough time, they transformed the rooftop into: river system, meeting place, ecosystem, game, and shelter.
The adults surrounding them continued moving through the city as if the environment were fixed. The children treated it as unfinished.
Many forms of imagination are not escapes from reality — they are rehearsals for different ways of living inside it.
Even in highly constrained environments, relationship continues trying to reorganize itself into play, collaboration, and wonder.
